§ 22-211. Ordinary disability benefit. Whenever a member of the fire insurance patrol, while in the service of the fire insurance patrol, becomes physically or mentally permanently disabled from any cause not necessarily connected with his service in the fire insurance patrol, so as to necessitate his retirement from service in the fire insurance patrol, he may be retired by the Board of Trustees, and he may, in the discretion of said Board be paid monthly from the fund such sum as the said Board of Trustees shall determine, not exceeding a sum equal to 50% of his monthly wages or salary at the date of retirement.
