§ 15-149. Determination of family status. Subject to the definitions contained in Sections 15-127 to 15-130, inclusive, in determining whether an applicant for a benefit under this Article is the surviving spouse, child, or parent of a participant or annuitant, the board shall apply such law as would be applied by the courts of this State in determining the devolution of intestate property.
