Illinois Statutes Chapter 325. Children § 60/5. Who may be admitted

§ 5. Any child under the age of 16 years whose parents, or natural guardian, may be unable to furnish proper surgical treatment and who may be in need of the same, may be admitted to such institute, upon an order to that effect made by the circuit judge residing in the county in which the child may have had a legal residence for one year last past. The county treasurer of the county in which the child may have so resided shall, upon the order of the judge, furnish such child with transportation from the place where he may so reside to the place of such institution and return. The order admitting such child shall, when made, be filed with the superintendent of the institute, and the child shall be admitted thereto in the regular order of filing as soon thereafter as the institute can provide room, care and attendance therefor. The child, if deemed feasible, shall be treated, nursed in the institute, until a recovery is effected, or it becomes apparent that further treatment will be of no avail, whereupon he shall be discharged and returned to his former place of residence.
