Illinois Statutes Chapter 325. Children § 2/70. Construction of Act

§ 70. Construction of Act. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to preclude the courts of this State from exercising their discretion to protect the health and safety of children in individual cases. The best interests and welfare of a child shall be a paramount consideration in the construction and interpretation of this Act. It is in the child's best interests that this Act be construed and interpreted so as not to result in extending time limits beyond those set forth in this Act.
