The Secretary may summarily suspend the license of a marriage and family therapist or an associate licensed marriage and family therapist without a hearing, simultaneously with the institution of proceedings for a hearing provided for in this Act, if the Secretary finds that evidence in his or her possession indicates that a marriage and family therapist's or associate licensed marriage and family therapist's continuation in practice would constitute an imminent danger to the public. In the event that the Secretary summarily suspends the license of a marriage and family therapist or an associate licensed marriage and family therapist without a hearing, a hearing by the Board or Department must be held within 30 calendar days after the suspension has occurred.
