§ 20-80. Summary suspension. The Secretary may temporarily suspend any license pursuant to this Act, without hearing, simultaneously with the institution of proceedings for a hearing provided for in this Act, if the Secretary finds that the evidence indicates that the public interest, safety, or welfare requires emergency action. In the event that the Secretary temporarily suspends any license without a hearing, a hearing shall be commenced within 30 calendar days after the suspension has begun. The suspended licensee may seek a continuance of the hearing during which the suspension shall remain in effect. The proceeding shall be concluded without appreciable delay.
