§ 31. Temporary suspension of a license or registration. The Secretary may temporarily suspend the license or registration of a structural
engineer without a hearing, simultaneously with the institution of proceedings for
a hearing provided for in Section 22 of this Act, if the Secretary finds that evidence
in the Department's possession indicates that a structural engineer's continuation
in practice would constitute an imminent danger to the public. In the event that the Secretary temporarily suspends the license or registration of
a structural engineer without a hearing, a hearing by the Board must be commenced
within 30 days after such suspension has occurred.
