§ 22.2. Civil enforcement. The Department may impose administrative civil penalties for violations of this Act and the rules promulgated thereunder, pursuant to rules for such penalties adopted by the Department. The State's Attorney of the county in which the violation occurred, or the Attorney General, shall bring actions for collection of penalties imposed under this Section in the name of the people of the State of Illinois. The State's Attorney or Attorney General may, in addition to other remedies provided in this Act, bring an action (i) for an injunction to restrain the violation, (ii) to impose civil penalties (if no penalty has been imposed by the Department), or (iii) to enjoin the operation of any such person or establishment.
