§ 1. The Director of the Department of Natural Resources on behalf of the State of Illinois is authorized to cooperate with appropriate federal agencies, including but not limited to the Departments of Interior and Agriculture, in accordance with the provisions of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, 1 in the consideration and development of a comprehensive statewide outdoor recreation plan or proposal for financing assistance, pursuant to the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (78 STAT. 897), 2 needs and opportunities for establishing State, interstate and local wild and scenic river areas, and accept technical assistance and advice with respect to establishing such wild or scenic river areas in accordance with the Act of May 28, 1963 (77 STAT. 49). 3
