§ 8a.1. For the purposes only of the pay plan specified in Section 8a, time spent as an elected State officer by any person who is on leave of absence from a position in the State service subject to the jurisdiction of the Department of Central Management Services shall be considered as time spent in the position as to which the leave of absence was obtained. Such time shall not, however, be considered as creditable service under the State Employees' Retirement System or under any other publicly supported retirement system.
The provisions of this section shall not be applicable to or affect any employee in any position in an activity or program financed in whole or in part by loans or grants made by the United States or by any Federal Agency.
