§ 1710-50. Security force. The Department has the power to appoint, subject to the Personnel Code, 1 members of a security force who shall be authorized to transport recipients between Department facilities or other locations, search for and attempt to locate and transport missing recipients, enforce Section 47 of the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Administrative Act, 2 and perform other required duties. The director of a mental health or developmental disability facility shall have authority to direct security forces. This authorization shall remain in effect even if security forces are transporting recipients across county or State boundaries. Security forces performing their duties shall be indemnified as provided under the State Employee Indemnification Act. 3
