§ 2. Purpose. The purpose of the Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service is to promote and support community service in public and private programs to meet the needs of Illinois residents; to stimulate new volunteerism and community service initiatives and partnerships; and to serve as a resource and advocate among all State agencies for community service agencies, volunteers, and programs which utilize federal, State, and private volunteers.
