§ 1. The trustees of the University of Illinois shall establish a school to be called the Police Training Institute for the purpose of training police officers in the State of Illinois in the methods of maintaining police services at a level consistent with the needs of the community. The training offered in the Police Training Institute shall be under the direction of the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
