§ 17-14. Payments by collector to treasurer--Statement of uncollected taxes. Within 30 days after the delinquent date for the payment of any tax or installment thereof and after the delivery of the tax books containing the computation and levy of the taxes, or as soon thereafter as the school treasurer shall present the certificate of the amount of the tax and make a demand therefor, the collector shall pay to the treasurer the full amount of the tax certified by the county clerk, or if any part remains uncollected, the collector shall, in addition to the amount collected, deliver to the treasurer a statement of the amount of uncollected taxes for his district or districts, taking his receipt therefor, which receipt shall be evidence in favor of the collector as against the treasurer.
