§ 13B-60.10. Parent conference. Before being enrolled in an alternative learning opportunities program, the student and each of his or her parents or guardians, and, if the student is in the legal custody of the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department's Office of Education and Transition Services shall receive written notice to attend a conference to determine if the student would benefit from attending an alternative learning opportunities program. The conference must provide all of the information necessary for the student and parent or guardian to make an informed decision regarding enrollment in an alternative learning opportunities program. The conference shall include a discussion of the extent to which the student, if enrolled in the program, may participate in school activities. No student shall be enrolled in an alternative learning opportunities program without the consent of the student's parent or guardian.
