§ 10-20.8. Branches of study, textbooks and apparatus.

To direct what branches of study shall be taught and what apparatus shall be used. Subject to Article 28 of this Act,  1 to direct what textbooks shall be used and to enforce uniformity of textbooks in the public schools; but not to maintain grades above the eighth unless such grades were maintained during the school year ended June 30, 1959. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Section or the School Code, no school board may purchase any textbook for use in the public schools from any textbook publisher that fails to furnish any computer diskettes as required under Section 28-21.
