§ 24-8.1. Whenever on the same day as a primary election there is also an election for officers or on propositions in which qualified voters have the right to vote without participating in the primary of any party, either a separate voting machine or a voting booth and paper ballots may be provided for those voters who do not wish to participate in the primary of any party. Such determination shall be made by resolution of the county board, municipal board of election commissioners or county board of election commissioners, whichever is applicable.
