(1) The board shall determine the subjects of examinations for applicants for licensure and the scope, content, and format of such examinations. The board may approve more than one (1) examination to qualify an applicant for licensure. The examination, or examinations, of an applicant for licensure shall demonstrate an applicant's proficiency in the practice of, and knowledge of, applicable rules of health and safety within the state.
(2) Examinations shall be held at least semiannually at such times and places as the board shall designate.
