(a) The consent to the provision of medical care and services by public or private hospitals, public or private clinics, or licensed health care providers, when executed by a minor who is or professes to be pregnant; a minor who is or professes to be infected with, to be at risk of exposure to, or to have been exposed to a sexually transmitted infection; or a minor seeking family planning services shall be valid and binding as if the minor had achieved the age of majority. A minor who is, or professes to be pregnant; a minor who is or professes to be infected with, to be at risk of exposure to, or to have been exposed to a sexually transmitted infection; or a minor seeking family planning services shall be deemed to have, and shall have the same legal capacity to act, and the same legal obligations with regard to the giving of consent to hospitals, clinics, or licensed health care providers for the provision of medical care and services, as a person of full legal age and capacity, the infancy of the minor and any contrary provisions of law notwithstanding.
(b) No consent given under this section shall be subject to later disaffirmance by reason of the minor patient’s minority.
(c) No consent of any other person or persons, including but not limited to a spouse, parent, custodian, or guardian, shall be necessary to authorize the provision of medical care and services by hospitals, clinics, or licensed health care providers to the minor.
(d) Each licensed health care provider who provides medical care and services to a minor under this section shall ensure that an applicable covered entity has been notified that the information pertaining to the minor-initiated medical care and services shall not be disclosed.
