(a) Any seller who engages in an unfair or deceptive act or practice in violation of this chapter, shall be fined by a sum of not less than $500 nor more than $2,500 for each unfair or deceptive act or practice, which sum shall be collected in a civil suit brought by the office of consumer protection.
(b) If a seller engages in an unfair or deceptive act in violation of this chapter, the contract referred to in section 481C-1 shall be unenforceable by the seller.
