Hawaii Revised Statutes Division 2. Business § 439A-4

(a) There is established the board of barbering and cosmetology placed within the department pursuant to section 26-9. The board shall consist of seven members who shall be appointed and may be removed by the governor pursuant to section 26-34, except as otherwise provided by law. The members shall be residents of the State, of which:

(b) Board members affiliated with any school teaching the practice of barbering or the practice of cosmetology, or any apprenticeship or other barbering or cosmetology program, shall disclose that affiliation and at all times shall adhere to chapter 84 and the interpretations of chapter 84 by the state ethics commission.
