The Friends of Florida State Forests Program is established within the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Its purpose is to provide support and assistance for existing and future programs of the Florida Forest Service. These programs must be consistent with the Florida Forest Service mission statement which is incorporated by reference. The purpose of the program is to:
(1) Conduct programs and activities related to environmental education, fire prevention, recreation, and forest management.
(2) Identify and pursue methods to provide resources and materials for these programs.
(3) Establish a statewide method to integrate these resources and materials.
