By resolution, subject to federal and state law, and in consultation with the Office of Urban Opportunity, a local government or its designee may operate a program that makes foreclosed single-family housing properties available to qualified buyers to purchase. This urban homesteading program is intended to be one component of a comprehensive urban-core redevelopment initiative known as Front Porch Florida, implemented by the Office of Urban Opportunity.
