No driver of any vehicle other than an authorized emergency vehicle on official business shall follow any fire apparatus traveling in response to a fire alarm closer than 500 feet or drive into or park such vehicle within the block where fire apparatus has stopped in answer to a fire alarm. A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable pursuant to chapter 318 as a moving violation for following too close to a fire apparatus or as a nonmoving violation for parking near a fire apparatus.
