There is designated and established as a state park to be known as Rauscher Park, in Escambia County, the lands lying between the Big Lagoon and the Gulf of Mexico, now owned by Escambia County, or hereafter acquired by Escambia County, adjacent or contiguous thereto, from private owners or from the United States Government; and the board of county commissioners of Escambia County may execute proper conveyance to the board of commissioners of state institutions covering the property now owned by Escambia County, as aforesaid, and said board of county commissioners of Escambia County may acquire in the name of the Division of Recreation and Parks of the Department of Environmental Protection any property adjacent or contiguous thereto, from private owners or from the United States Government; and said division may accept in the name of the state the title to any such lands, whether from said Escambia County, or whether same be property acquired from private owners or the United States Government.
