The Department of Education, upon request by a school district and verification by the Department of Juvenile Justice, shall direct a school district that receives Florida Education Finance Program funds attributed to a membership survey for children in secure detention care pursuant to chapter 985 to transfer a pro rata share of the funds to another district that served the same students during the same survey period but was unable to report the students for funding. The amount of the funds transfer shall be based on the percentage of the survey period in which the students were served by each district.
