Each private school, college, and university that offers degrees in medicine, nursing, and allied health shall include in the curricula applicable to such degrees material on patient safety, including patient safety improvement. Materials shall include, but need not be limited to, effective communication and teamwork; epidemiology of patient injuries and medical errors; medical injuries; vigilance, attention, and fatigue; checklists and inspections; automation, technological, and computer support; psychological factors in human error; and reporting systems.
