It is the intent of the Legislature to provide persons released from incarceration from the Department of Corrections with certain fundamental resources in the areas of employment, life skills training, job placement, and access to as many support services as possible in order to appreciably increase the likelihood of the inmate's successful reentry into free society. The Legislature intends that these support services include faith-based service groups on an equal basis with other private organizations.
