Florida Statutes Title XLVII. Criminal Procedure and Corrections § 944.402. Reward for capture of escapee from correctional institution

The warden of a state correctional institution may pay a reward in an amount not greater than $100 from institutional funds to each person who is directly responsible for the capture of an inmate who has escaped from the institution. The warden of the institution from which the inmate escaped shall determine the amount of the reward. Employees of state, county, and municipal law enforcement or correctional agencies who are engaged in the apprehension, detection, or detention of prisoners are not eligible to receive such rewards.
