(1) No later than January 1, 2008, the department shall develop and maintain a system to provide automatic notification of registration information regarding sexual predators and sexual offenders to the public.
(2) In accordance with the federal Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006, 1 schools, public housing agencies, agencies responsible for conducting employment-related background checks under s. 3 of the National Child Protection Act of 1993, 42 U.S.C. s. 5119a, as amended, social service entities responsible for protecting minors in the child welfare system, volunteer organizations in which contact with minors or other vulnerable individuals might occur, and any other such organization, company, or individual shall have access to the notification system.
