A county or municipality may not issue a business tax receipt for the operation of an assisted living facility pursuant to chapter 429 without first ascertaining that the applicant has been licensed by the Agency for Health Care Administration to operate such facility at the specified location or locations. The Agency for Health Care Administration shall furnish to local agencies responsible for issuing business tax receipts sufficient instructions for making the required determinations.
