It is the legislative intent that members of this system be provided with social security coverage only in pursuance of the method prescribed herein for becoming members of division B, anything in chapter 650 to the contrary notwithstanding, provided however that the officials and employees of any county or counties which have prior to June 19, 1957, elected to accept social security under the provisions of chapter 650 shall not be affected hereby; provided further, all present and future employees of such counties shall remain in or become members of division A as provided in s. 122.01 of the State and County Officers and Employees' Retirement System; and chapter 29968, Acts of 1955, chapter 410, Florida Statutes, are hereby repealed; and provided, that nothing contained in the provisions of this law shall repeal or in any way affect chapter 23259, Laws of 1945, as amended.
