The Secretary of Management Services may at any time appoint an ad hoc or continuing advisory committee consisting of members of the Senior Management Service or other persons knowledgeable in the field of personnel management. Any such committee shall consist of not more than nine members, who shall serve at the pleasure and meet at the call of the secretary, to advise and consult with the secretary on such matters affecting the Senior Management Service as the secretary requests. Members shall serve without compensation, but shall be entitled to receive reimbursement for travel expenses as provided in s. 112.061. The secretary may periodically hire a consultant with expertise in personnel management to advise him or her with respect to the administration of the Senior Management Service.
