(a) A power of attorney executed in the District on or after the effective date of this chapter [February 23, 2023] is valid if its execution complies with § 21-2601.05.
(b) A power of attorney executed in the District before the effective date of this chapter [February 23, 2023] is valid if its execution complied with District law as it existed at the time of execution.
(c) A power of attorney executed other than in the District is valid in the District if, when the power of attorney was executed, the execution complied with:
(1) The law of the jurisdiction that determines the meaning and effect of the power of attorney pursuant to § 21-2601.07; or
(2) The requirements for a military power of attorney pursuant to 10 U.S.C. § 1044b.
(d) Except as otherwise provided by statute other than this chapter, a photocopy or electronically submitted copy of an original power of attorney shall have the same effect as the original.
