District of Columbia Code Division I. Government of District. § 5-1501.04. Duties of the Director.

(1) Be responsible for the management and operation of the Laboratory;

(2) Ensure that accreditation is obtained in compliance with § 5-1501.06(d);

(3) Ensure that accreditation is maintained in compliance with § 5-1501.06(d);

(4) Report to the Board any allegation of professional negligence, misconduct, or misidentification or other testing error that occurs in the provision of forensic science services and public health laboratory services within the Laboratory pursuant to § 5-1501.12a;

(5) Prepare an annual report on the activities of the Department, which shall be submitted to the Mayor and the Council and made available to the public in February of each year;

(6) Repealed.

(6A) Provide access to the Board to all books, records, and documents of the Laboratory; and

(7) Perform such other acts as may be appropriate to accomplish the declared mission of the Department.

(c)(1) All training manuals and operating procedures shall be:

(3) The Director shall address and implement any corrective actions identified by the Board pursuant to § 5-1501.12a(c)(1)(C).
