Connecticut General Statutes Title 8. Zoning, Planning, Housing and Economic and Community Development § 8-37jj. Electric resistance as primary source of heat

(a) The Department of Housing may not approve electric resistance as the primary heat source in new, subsidized housing except where justified by a life-cycle cost analysis whose methodology has been approved by the division of the Office of Policy and Management responsible for energy matters.

(b) If the Department of Housing or the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority uses electric resistance space heating as the primary heating source in any new construction, it shall construct the unit in such a way as to be eligible for any available energy conservation incentives provided by the electric distribution company, as defined in section 16-1, or the municipal utility furnishing electric service to such unit.
