Not later than January 1, 2024, the Police Officer Standards and Training Council shall (1) examine (A) programs and strategies used in the state or other jurisdictions through which police officers collaborate with social workers, and (B) the evaluation submitted pursuant to section 18 of public act 20-1 of the July special session; 1 and (2) issue guidance to law enforcement units that includes recommendations of how police officers may collaborate with social workers.
