(a) As used in this section, (1) “Indian child” has the same meaning as provided in section 46b-116a.
(b) In any action or proceeding under this chapter 1 involving an Indian child's custody, including preadoptive placement, adoptive placement or termination of the parental rights of the parents of such child, the Probate Court, or the Superior Court in cases transferred pursuant to section 45a-715, shall ensure that such action or proceeding is conducted in accordance with sections 46b-116 to 46b-116aa, inclusive.
