The Commissioner of Agriculture shall, by regulation adopted in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, 1 establish and promulgate official Connecticut grades and standards for apples and, from time to time, amend or modify such grades and standards. Such grades and standards may be official United States grades as promulgated by the United States Department of Agriculture. The Commissioner of Agriculture shall have authority to make regulatory inspections arising out of the provisions of this section.
