The director of the division of oil and public safety shall establish specifications or requirements for approved-type brake fluid; but the specifications or requirements shall not be lower in standard than the specifications and requirements of the society of automotive engineers, numbered J-70 b, approved May, 1963. The director shall compile and furnish upon request a list of brands and trademarks of brake fluid inspected by the director that have been so approved.
