No commissioner nor officer, employee, or agent of the municipality under the board's jurisdiction shall be interested in any contract or transaction with the municipality except in his official representative capacity or as is provided in his contract of employment with the municipality, subject to the provisions of any ordinance adopted pursuant to section 31-35-502.
