Any vacancy in the office of any member of the board of governors of the Colorado state university system appointed by the governor caused by death, resignation, or removal from the state may be filled by a majority of the voting members. Any vacancy in the elected office on the board shall be filled by reelection for the unexpired term. The members of the board shall receive no compensation for their services but may be allowed reimbursement for expenses incurred that are reasonable, necessary, and directly related to an individual's duties as a board member upon presenting an itemized bill for the same.
