California Code, Welfare and Institutions Code - WIC § 14088.14

The department may enter into contracts pursuant to this article with nurse practitioners, acting within the scope of practice of a nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwives, acting within the scope of practice of a certified nurse midwife, and, for the purpose of providing services to populations with special medical problems, with any physician who has specialized in an area of medicine relevant to the special population to be served and who is currently enrolled in the Medi-Cal program.
