(a) Families who, because of marriage or because separated spouses reunite, lose AFDC eligibility under the chapter because the family no longer meets the need requirement specified in Section 11250 or has increased assets or income, or both, shall be eligible for extended medical benefits as specified under this article for a period not to exceed 12 months.
(b) The department shall seek all federal waivers necessary to implement this section.
(c) This section shall not be implemented until the director has executed a declaration, that shall be retained by the director, that any necessary waivers and federal financial participation have been obtained.
