(a) During the annual budget process, the department shall update the Legislature at hearings regarding the number of CalWORKs welfare-to-work recipients, aggregated by county, who have been identified as potential victims of domestic abuse during the online CalWORKs appraisal process. The report shall also include a list of counties that require domestic violence survivors to be offered waivers pursuant to Section 11495.15 and a summary of actions taken by the department to address the specific and unique needs of survivors of domestic abuse.
(b) This section shall become operative on July 1, 2018.
