The treasurer shall have charge and custody of all of the funds of the district and
he and his bondsmen shall be responsible for the safekeeping of those funds. He shall deposit all funds of the district in a depositary designated by the board
of directors. He shall make report of the funds in his possession as required by the board of
directors, and shall perform all the duties required of him by this part, and by the
