The board of supervisors shall levy a tax each year upon the taxable property in the district sufficient to defray the cost of the disposal of garbage and other refuse in the district, and of the maintenance of the district, and to meet other expenditures authorized by this chapter.
The tax shall be levied and collected at the same time, and in the same manner, as general county taxes levied for county purposes and, when collected, shall be paid into the county treasury and used in furtherance of the purposes of this chapter.
