California Code, Health and Safety Code - HSC § 117475

For the purpose of this article the term “garbage” includes any or all of the following:

(a) Garbage.

(b) Swill.

(c) Refuse.

(d) Cans.

(e) Bottles.

(f) Paper.

(g) Vegetable matter.

(h) Carcass of any dead animal.

(i) Offal from any slaughter pen or butcher shop.

(j) Trash.

(k) Rubbish.

(l) Radioactive waste materials.

(m) Discarded, nonbiodegradable materials including plastics or damaged or broken marine equipment.
