The department may issue a permit authorizing the temporary practice of radiologic technology to any applicant for certification who has complied with the experience and education requirements of Section 107000and is awaiting examination. A permit shall convey the same rights as a certificate for the period for which it is issued in the classification for which the applicant is eligible, and shall be valid until 90 days after the date of the next examination held pursuant to Section 107025, except that if the applicant does not take the examination the permit shall expire on the date of the examination.
