(a) On or before April 15, 2013, the commission shall report to the Legislature, and to the Chairs of the Senate and Assembly Committees on Judiciary, of its activities and efforts since the commission was established to implement the predecessors of Sections 14985.5 and 14985.6, including the provisions that were law before amendment or repeal in the 2011-12 Regular Session. Commencing in 2014, and notwithstanding Section 10231.5, the commission shall report on or before March 31 and annually thereafter to the Legislature, and to the Chairs of the Senate and Assembly Committees on Judiciary, of its ongoing efforts to implement Sections 14985.5 and 14985.6, as amended in the 2011-12 Regular Session.
(b) A report to be submitted pursuant to subdivision (a) shall be submitted in compliance with Section 9795.
